Appointment of legally qualified Chairs to serve on
Police Officer Misconduct Hearing Panels
Daily rate of £366 + expenses will be paid


The Police and Crime Commissioner for Avon & Somerset is seeking to recruit 6 legally qualified Chairs to preside over police officer misconduct hearings for the Avon & Somerset Constabulary. Misconduct Hearing Panels preside over serious misconduct cases in what is an important aspect of the disciplinary rules that govern the police.

Applications will be sought from qualified lawyers who can demonstrate integrity and independence of mind, commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, sound judgement and an objective approach to issues presented.

To apply you will have to complete security checks to ensure that you are suitable for appointment. You must satisfy the judicial appointment eligibility condition on a 5-year basis as set out in section 50 of the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007.

Applicants are required to be resident in Avon & Somerset.
