SAFE HARBOUR ADVICE ON COLPs AND COFAs?

Then Bristol Law Society may be able to offer you some comfort by inviting you to this free regional event, hosted by the Law Society of England & Wales, in association with Bristol Law Society, to assist solicitors with their regulatory and compliance obligations.

Hear Tim Prior, Law Society Risk and Compliance consultant, speaking on outcomes focused regulation with particular emphasis on:-

- The 10 over-arching principles

-Key elements of the 2011 SRA handbook

- What to consider in appointing your COLP and COFA.

- Pre-requisites to compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct

- Your reporting obligations

The update session will last 2 hours, to be followed by a one hour surgery session comprised of 10 minute diagnostic consultancy slots. Speaker Profile:

Tim Prior is a solicitor (non-practising), a Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management, a Lexcel consultant and a specialist in
risk management, compliance and professional indemnity insurance. Following 11 years with the Solicitors Indemnity Fund and 10 years with Professional Indemnity Insurer Travelers, he set up his own company in 2010. He is a member of the Conveyancing Quality Scheme Assessment Panel and is a contributing author to LexisPSL on risk and compliance issues. He is a regular speaker at Law Society events and will be leading a COLP and COFA masterclass at Chancery Lane on 7 February 2012.
