Criminal Defence Lawyers Crisis – lobby your MP!


Members may have seen the recent heatmap from TLS which paints a very worrying picture about the future of criminal duty solicitors.

TLS data shows that in 5 to 10 years’ time there will be insufficient criminal duty solicitors in many regions, which will leave many individuals unable to access their right to a solicitor and free advice.

TLS have put together a link which automatically generates a letter to your local MP asking them to highlight this growing crisis facing local criminal duty solicitors and ask them to urge the government to take action. It takes less than a minute to complete!
