3PB’s employment team in Bristol is pleased to announce that Simon Tibbitts and Gareth Graham will be joining its chambers with immediate effect. Both barristers were formerly with Queen Square chambers in Bristol.
Simon and Gareth are both experienced employment law barristers. As 3PB’s Head of Employment, Jack Mitchell, comments “ 3PB’s employment team continues to go from strength to strength and this is highlighted by our ability to attract experienced new tenants to our chambers. We are delighted that Simon and Gareth are joining us and extend a warm welcome to them both”.
Gareth is highly regarded for his employment law expertise and regularly appears in employment tribunals throughout the UK and in Employment Appeal Tribunal cases and county court employment litigation matters. He also advises in professional disciplinary hearings on education matters at University and also at RFU disciplinary hearings on behalf of employees involved in professional internal disciplinary matters.
Gareth has extensive experience in the employment field, including in:
- All aspects of unfair dismissal, including constructive dismissal;
- Protected disclosures (whistleblowing);
- Redundancy situations;
- Discrimination (including sex, race, age, disability and sexual orientation);
- Contractual claims for unlawful deduction of wages, including complex “bonus” cases;
- Internal disciplinary matters.
Simon acts for both claimants and respondents nationwide both in the ET and EAT, and his respondent clients in the past year have included HSBC, Sainsbury’s and an international subsea telecommunications provider.
His knowledge and experience spans the whole spectrum of employment law disputes but he has particular experience within the following areas:
- All aspects of unfair dismissal including constructive unfair dismissal
- Wrongful dismissal
- All other contractual claims (unlawful deduction of wages etc.)
- All areas of discrimination
- Protected disclosures (whistleblowing)
Simon advises in personal injury cases, especially in the cross-over between a client’s employment rights and a potential claim for personal injury.
Simon was made Treasury Counsel in November 2012 (appointed to the Attorney General’s Regional Panel of Counsel).
3PB is also delighted to announce that Jane Rowley (Call 1988) formerly of Queen’s Square chambers has joined 3PB Barristers and further strengthens our Criminal and Regulatory teams.
Jane is a Grade 4 Prosecutor on the approved rape panel for the Western and Welsh circuits and regularly appears in Bristol, Newport and Gloucester Crown Courts in complex and serious cases, often involving vulnerable witnesses. She was appointed in 2008 as a Crown Court recorder and sits a legal assessor for the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Care Council for Wales.
