This top tier firm's incentives team specialises in providing a complete range of advisory services to corporate clients, dealing with senior directors, managers, consultants and trustees, as well as advising remuneration committees of listed companies. The team specialises in all aspects of employee benefits, including the design, implementation and communication of senior executive and employee incentive plans, the establishment and operation of employee benefit trusts, advice in relation to tax withholding, social security, accounting, transfer pricing as well as corporate governance, regulatory and compliance matters.
The team acts for a wide range of clients from one man bands up to FTSE300 companies. 50% of the practice involves advising companies on their pay structures and achieving their business objectives through tax efficient reward structures. The remaining element of the practice is supporting the corporate teams on transactional deals from PE deals, M&A, takeovers to the setting up of new subsidiaries etc.
The team is now looking to recruit solicitors with at least 3 years' PQE with experience of Employee Shares Schemes. Candidates will ideally come from a city or large regional legal practice or they may come from an accountancy background with experience of this area. Additionally, corporate lawyers looking to refocus their practice will be considered.
The role includes: Corporate transactional support;Stand-alone consultancy advice including a broad range of tax approved and unapproved share scheme arrangements; Establishing and funding employee benefit trusts; PAYE / National Insurance advice; Design and implementation of bonus arrangements.
Skills required:Excellent written and drafting skills; An ability to learn (tax knowledge is not essential); Good communication and client handling skills; Strong work ethic and team player - to fit into a close knit and cohesive team.
