Excellent opportunity for a litigation lawyer with at least 2 years' PQE to join friendly and progressive financial services litigation team.  This Financial Services Litigation team currently comprises two partners, three associates, two solicitors, three paralegals and a trainee.   The team acts mainly for individuals but also for businesses engaged in the industry such as financial advisers, stockbrokers, fund managers and the trustees of occupational pension schemes.  The work ranges from compliance and regulatory disputes, insurance disputes, professional negligence, breach of contract and breach of trust claims, and disputes concerning commission claw back and HM Customs & Revenue restrictions.  They also act for clients before the Pensions Ombudsman, the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services and Markets Tribunal.  Acutely aware that for many reasons a commercial settlement can be preferable to a judgment or determination, they are adept at negotiation and mediation too.  This team has an excellent understanding of the financial services industry and the legal and regulatory standards which those working in it must observe, due in part to the fact that they have financial services qualifications.  In each case they seek the same level of understanding of their clients' particular circumstances and the context of their dealings with the other parties.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' PQE and a background in commercial litigation, preferably in professional negligence or banking litigation.  Candidates must be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware.  They will be a team player with a strong client focussed approach. They will also have a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills.  IT skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Document management systems, Elite.  The successful applicant will be expected to undertake financial services qualifications in order to assist in their understanding of the industry.  Excellent opportunity for career progression for the right candidate.
