Pro Bono Brokerage Co-ordinator – Bristol City Funds

Bristol’s City Funds is now recruiting for our Pro Bono Brokerage Co-ordinator.

Full-time – 12-month contract
Full-time 35 hours per week (initial 12-month contract – which may be extended)
Salary: £28,000 per annum

Do you want to be in at the start of an exciting new scheme for Bristol? Are you a creative, experienced connector of people who cares about making a real difference to disadvantaged people across our City?

Bristol’s City Funds is a new way for the people of Bristol to come together to bring new funding into Bristol to help solve the biggest problems facing our communities. Too many people here do not benefit from the city’s economic and environmental wealth, so we’ll use donations and social investment to address big issues facing people in Bristol, making permanent, sustainable changes. We also want to get more “bang for our buck” from the generous offers made by business people to provide pro bono support to third sector organisations. That’s where you come in.

As the Pro Bono Brokerage Co-ordinator for the City Funds you will be responsible for sourcing and carefully defining the requirements of charities, voluntary and community organisations as well as social enterprises both directly and in collaboration with VCSE infrastructure organisations. You’ll then collaborate with the many existing providers of skilled people to ensure that third sector organisations are matched with the pro bono support they need.

This role is ideal for someone who is socially purposed, commercially minded, passionate, energetic and who has at least three years’ experience in a similar role or through consultancy, recruitment or another brokerage/consultative role. You’ll have an appreciation of issues facing our disadvantaged communities. Working with the small City Funds team, you will use your excellent listening skills, high emotional intelligence, knowledge and expertise to help establish and deliver the programme’s objectives.
You will be used to taking a consultative approach when dealing with people and issues, and you must have a proven track record in building relationships, influencing and collaborating. You must be able to work to deadlines, feel comfortable in a target driven environment and be able to communicate exceptionally well.

We will work with you to develop and support you in your role from week one. We will provide training, but we also believe that getting stuck in is the best way to learn.
City Funds is a collaboration between Bristol City Council, Quartet Community Foundation and Bristol & Bath Regional Capital. The post holder will be appointed by Quartet Community Foundation and will be based in Quartet’s office (when this reopens), working from home or other locations as required. Although the role is for City Funds, the post will be co-funded by Quartet Community Foundation and Voscur.
