Property Litigator – 3pqe+ – BLS30615
This highly regarded property litigation team in Bristol, rated by Chambers & Partners as a national leader outside London are looking for an Associate to join their team. The practice : – The specialist real estate litigation lawyers excel in helping clients resolve all kinds of disputes ranging from landlord and tenant to complex and highly technical development disputes. They provide a cradle-to-grave service and have a wide range of experience, from advising clients on possible angles to exploit and add value on investment portfolios or development site clearance, to early-stage dispute avoidance advice and mediation, full-blown litigation and third-party determination.
The focus of this role will largely be on all aspects of commercial landlord and tenant litigation that arises from large-scale portfolio management, and in part on other property related disputes. Whilst they act for a number of corporate occupiers and institutional landlord clients, much of the commercial landlord and tenant work will be for the corporate occupier clients.
The team: the team in Bristol currently comprises of 1 Partner, 1 Legal Director, 1 Associate Director, 2 Senior Associates, 2 Associates, 1 Trainee Solicitor and 2 Paralegals. We work across office with our London colleagues and the team there comprises one partner, an Associate Director, a Senior Associate and 3 Associates.
The work: The role will have a broad focus on commercial landlord and tenant disputes, acting mainly for tenants, and some real property disputes.
Technical skills and experience: Due to the technical nature of the practice, the team look for evidence of a strong academic record and training ideally gained within a large regional or City Firm. They also look for candidates who have worked within a recognised and respected Property Litigation team and have good exposure to a variety of commercial landlord and tenant related litigation. As a guide, due to the nature of the work and the structure of the team, they are looking to appoint a lawyer with approximately 3 years’ PQE in this area, although we will consider candidates with slightly more or less experience.
