SWLST – The Great Legal Bake -25th Feb to 1st March

JANUARY IS FOR DETOX – FEBRUARY IS FOR BAKING!
Get your aprons ready and prepare to bake for justice from 25th February – 1st March!

WHAT IS THE GREAT LEGAL BAKE?
It is an exciting social event that brings the local legal and advice communities together to #raisesomedough to help give access to justice for all.
Groups from local firms, chambers, law schools, courts, and advice agencies all host their own Bake to raise money for the South West Legal Support Trust in order to support the provision of free legal service.
We raised around £36,000 in 2018 – an amazing amount of money that we hope will be beaten in 2019, but we wouldn’t be able to do it without your help.

WHY SHOULD WE BAKE?
For the poorest and most vulnerable in our community, access to justice is often out of reach.
Poverty has increased in recent years and support services have dwindled. Therefore, the need for funding for specialist advice centres has risen, and the Great Legal Bake is a great way to raise money to support them.
It’s also a lot of fun!

HOW TO GET INVOLVED?
You can act as Bake Coordinator and register Bristol Law Society to take part, or if not, could you find someone who might be able to? Anyone can get involved, whether you are an advice agency, law firm, chambers, or someone who just loves to bake! It doesn’t even have to be cakes – savoury snacks are just as welcome. The most important thing is that you are dedicated to raising money to facilitate the provision of free legal advice throughout South West England.
To find out more, click HERE or email events@swlst.org.uk.
To register a team, please click HERE.
Once you have signed up, we will send you a fundraising pack via email including posters and stickers, so that all you have to do is promote your baked creations and sell them!

REMEMBER, if you are…
a) a legal advice agency 100% of the funds you raise can be kept by your charity!
b) a law firm or chambers you can raise 50% for your favourite legal advice charity and 50% for the SWLST by telling us which partner agency you want to raise for.

Thank you in advance for your help – we rely on your support to keep access to justice for all a reality.
