Avon Industrial Buildings Trust looking for a new trustee

Avon Industrial Buildings Trust (AIBT) is a small charity that has been working on the preservation of the industrial archaeology in the Bristol/Avon area for over 25 years.  The region can rightly claim to be one of the birthplaces of the Industrial Revolution as many of the industrial processes were at the cutting edge of technologies of their time.  Sadly, time has not always been kind to the areas’s industrial infrastructure.  While some buildings and structures are still in use today, or been lovingly preserved, there are many others that have been either deliberately demolished or allowed to decay into nothing.  This makes it all the more important to preserve what is left now for the enjoyment of future generations.

Avon Industrial Buildings Trust are now looking for a solicitor volunteer (including retired solicitors) to join the trust. Ideally, s/he should be interested in the region’ s industrial archaeology and be able to advise us on a complementary basis on aspects of the law relating to trusts, property, liability etc.

For further details of the work the AIBT undertake, please see the website:

If you would like to apply for the position please enclose a copy of your CV and covering letter to Helen Read
