Barcan Woodward expands Clinical Negligence team

Barcan Woodward is pleased to announce that Claire Hurrell and Jayshree Nathwani have joined the firm’s clinical negligence team from Exeter-based Parlett Kent. Claire has joined in the role of Solicitor and Jayshree has been appointed Associate.

As specialist clinical negligence solicitors, Claire and Jayshree bring a wealth of knowledge and experience across a broad spectrum of injury types.

Claire has previously dealt with cases involving obstetric and paediatric negligence, head and brain injuries, oncology and psychiatric injury claims. She has a particular interest in fatal claims and inquests concerning hospital and GP negligence.

Jayshee has a wealth of experience across a range of injury types, with particular expertise in complex brain injury claims. She is highly recommended in Chambers 2013, who described her as “very good” and praised her “low key yet efficacious approach”.

Richard Harries, Partner, said of the appointments:

“We’re delighted to be bringing two such professional, experienced and well-respected solicitors to our team. Both Claire and Jay are incredibly client-focused and bring practical knowledge as well as strong clinical insight to their roles. Both will be an asset to the firm, as well as the department.

The medical negligence team at Barcan Woodward already has a well-deserved reputation for the quality of their work, but I’m confident these appointments will further endorse our standing as one of the strongest medical negligence firms in the South West.”
