It is a complex and fast-changing world for charities, which face significant resource challenges – against a background of increasing legal, regulatory and accountability demands. No wonder many of them are actively seeking professional and business skills to enhance their boards.
As a potential trustee, how can you assess a charity and make an informed decision about whether trusteeship in that organisation is the right voluntary role for you?
Bristol Law Society, in conjunction with ICAEW, is holding an unmissable session for potential trustees entitled “BEING A TRUSTEE – ARE YOU PREPARED?” on Tuesday 01 October 2013 from 16.00 – 18.30 at The Law Library, The Law Courts, Small Street, Bristol BS1 1DA.
A panel of charity specialists will outline the responsibilities of charity trustees and suggest what you should investigate before becoming a trustee. They will also offer some tips on reducing the risk of fraud and other criminality in charities.
Following the close of the formal proceedings at 17.45 there will be an opportunity for networking. There is no charge to attend this event, but please confirm your attendance in advance.
