Can you help? Trustee with legal skills required at PROPS charity

PROPS was established in 2000 and supports SEND kids as they move from school (Briarwood) to the adult world. They therefore support 19 to 26 year olds. A number of charities now recognise that support provided to children, can evaporate as they enter adulthood, leaving something of a “cliff edge”

PROPS cover this territory and have devised a number of ongoing schemes and activities to provide support. These include growing food, harvesting, selling on etc. They are now based at the Vassal Centre in Fishponds and are focussed on Bristol and South Gloucs. Some of the young people are very severely challenged, others have apparent capacity, but still need interest, support and mentoring to become employable.  Further details of the charities work can be found at https://www.propsbristol.org/

Monies are raised from a variety of sources including  the proceeds of an annual Bristol to Bordeaux bike ride and “Barbarian” rugby matches each year. This year they will generate beyond £100k.

The Board of 6 trustees are all working and in business. They are looking for a lawyer to join them. They already have trustees with accounting, HR, IT and project management skills.
