Important information for County Court users:-
With effect from Monday 23 July 2012, there will be temporarily a change in the times of our County Court counter opening. This is in accordance with the Framework for the Provision of Front Office Services in the Civil Courts issued September 2008 and with the agreement of the Designated Civil Judge and Delivery Director.
The arrangements will help the Court to manage the workload during the busy summer leave period by allowing staff time in the afternoon to concentrate on the court administrative process in a more efficient manner.
The Court will continue to open the counter from Monday to Friday but the opening times will now be from 10.00 am through to 2.00 pm (not 4.00 pm).
The reduced counter opening times will be in operation at the following County Courts in the Gloucestershire, Avon & Somerset Cluster:
- Bristol Civil Justice Centre
- Gloucester & Cheltenham County Court
- Taunton County Court
- Weston-Super-Mare County Court
- Yeovil County Court
- Bath County Court
Hearings will continue as normal. Members of the public attending hearings will still have access to court staff, as necessary and we will provide a photocopying facility during this time for urgent matters. Court users will continue to be able to obtain leaflets and forms on site or via the HMCTS website as usual: www.hmcts.gov.uk or you can make your enquiry via e-mail to your local court site at enquiries@anytown.countycourt.gsi.gov.uk (inserting your local court as applicable).
These arrangements will not affect the courts’ ability to deal throughout the working day with any matters which should be dealt with immediately e.g. injunction applications. We would encourage you to continue to contact the court via e-mail or fax to alert us to any urgent matters so that we can then make the appropriate arrangements.
