Damar strengthens apprenticeship offer to legal sector with new appointment in Bristol

Specialist legal apprenticeship provider Damar Training has appointed an additional legal trainer in Bristol.

Nicola Cunnington is an experienced litigation paralegal, having previously worked in Bristol for DAC Beachcroft, CW Law and Lyons Davidson. Mentoring and training has been an important part of her role in practice and she will be able to use this experience to benefit the growing numbers of legal apprentices based in the South-West.

Nicola was Chair of the Bristol Junior Lawyers Division (2011-13), is an Executive Committee member of the National Junior Lawyers Division of England and Wales and also sits on the Bristol Law Society Committee.

Damar’s managing director Jonathan Bourne said: “we are delighted that so many providers of legal services in the South West are recognising the benefits that apprentices can bring to their businesses. This year we are likely to see record numbers of firms recruiting apprentices and Nicola’s appointment ensures that we can meet the needs of the legal sector in and around Bristol.”

“Nicola’s understanding of the local market for legal services will be valuable as we continue to tailor our offer to firms in the region and forge links between vocational and academic routes into the legal profession.”

TLT, DAS Law, Co-operative Legal Services and the Crown Prosecution Service are just a few of the legal services employers that Damar is working with in the Bristol area.
