2013 promises to be an exciting year as BLS plans a whole set of events for members.
The Society will hold three conferences this year offering a chance for BLS members to gain CPD points and participate with other local practitioners in up-to-the-minute presentations and discussions on topics that are current. The Dispute Resolution Conference will be held on 12th June at the offices of Foot Anstey, whilst the Private Client Conference will be in September and the Property Conference in October. The date for the Property Conference has now been fixed for Thursday 24th October and will be held at the offices of Veale Wasbrough Vizards. Watch out for details or contact BLS to reserve your places now.
October will also see the Annual Dinner pencilled in for the 10th. This is always the highlight of the Bristol Legal Year and has been so since 1775. Of rather more recent vintage is BLS’ Newly Qualified Ceremony which was first held in 2012. Such was its success that 17th October 2013 will see the second Ceremony, unmissable for anybody in Bristol who will be qualifying this year.
The Summer Party will once again be held on 11th July, this time at the Mud Dock; whilst BLS’ ever popular quizzes (one general knowledge and one music) will again be held on 2nd May and 19th September – both at Toto’s Bar on Redcliff Wharf, as ever with your genial quizmaster Ben Holt. Additionally, the South West Legal Walk will be held Monday 3rd June.
The Law Library will host regular surgeries allowing firms to speak confidentially to the president and also Bristol’s Law Society Council representative.
Keep a weather eye out for details of these and other events on the website.
