‘Growth Accelerator’ – Supporting growth in the legal services sector

‘Growth Accelerator’ – Supporting growth in the legal services sector

The challenges to survival and growth in the legal market have never been more acute.  Changes to the UK legal practice landscape, competition by ABS’s, new market entrants and continuing economic difficulties present a range of tough challenges to lawyers and law firms with aspirations for growth.

Growth Accelerator is a nationwide Government-sponsored programme that supports business owners and leaders who have the ambition to grow their businesses year on year.

LawStrategy is proud to be associated with the Growth Accelerator programme. Why? Because growing businesses employ more people, generate more economic activity, and will help us to emerge out of the economic doldrums.

Growth Accelerator provides personalised support for your business combined with powerful training for you and your senior team.  The key benefit offered through the scheme is up to £2,000 of match-funding for every senior manager in your firm to go towards training that is focused on helping your business to grow.  It also provides coaching for your business, too.  If your firm or chambers is planning to grow, then this initiative will provide you with a platform to achieve your vision of growth in a shorter timescale and at considerably reduced cost.

Is the programme right for you?

Your firm needs to be determined to grow, have fewer than 250 employees, be registered in England, and your turn-over must be less than £40m.

If this description matches your firm and you are prepared to invest the time to learn and develop the skills and knowledge to help you double the size of your business, you should consider applying for a Growth Accelerator grant.

The focus of LawStrategy’s programme is squarely on the leadership and management of law firms and covers areas such as planning for growth, managing the talent in your business, improving your leadership skills, strengthening and differentiating your brand and identity  in the legal sector, and how to maximise opportunities through client retention and development.

The programme is not without commitment.  You will need to make a small financial investment to the Government – the amount varies depending on the size of your firm – and demonstrate your commitment to work with the programme.  The Government then co-funds the training you will receive.

Bristol Law Society believe that accessing the scheme will provide invaluable support and guidance to lawyers, law firms, and barristers’ chambers to navigate the difficult waters ahead in delivering growth and business continuity.

On Wednesday 22nd May 2013, Bristol Law Society will host at the Law Library an information event run by LawStrategy explaining the Growth Accelerator Scheme for the Legal Profession.

The event is free of charge for BLS and Connect2Law members and will run from 5pm to 6.30pm, followed by an informal reception and Q&A.  As interest is already high and places are limited, please reserve your space as soon as possible by emailing
