Handling Experts in Mediation – ASWM webinar 28 Nov @6pm

Handling Experts in Mediation

Having expert witnesses in attendance at mediations can raise myriad issues for both the experts themselves and those instructing them.

Based on guidance issued by the Academy of Experts, this online Zoom seminar will give insight into how to avoid common pitfalls, from the perspectives of both expert and mediator.

Speakers

Roger Issacs – Partner at Milsted Langdon LLP, Roger specialises in mediation, forensic accounting and insolvency.

An accredited mediator for over 20 years, he is a member of CEDR and specialises in accountancy related, insolvency and financial disputes and other money-related matters.

With experience of attending mediations as a claimant, expert witness and mediator, this gives Roger several perspectives from which to inform his view, as to how to get the best from experts in mediation.

Laurence Cobb – A mediator since 2015, Laurence is a member of CEDR Faculty and an in-house lecturer, trainer and specialist mediator at Global Mediation.

Laurence was variously Head of Litigation, Head of International Construction, and on the Executive Board at Taylor Wessing LLP, until his retirement as a solicitor in March 2019.

He has attended many mediations as a party representative and chaired the committee of the Academy of Experts, producing guidance notes for experts in mediation.

This event is free to ASWM members and £10 for non-members. For details of other benefits of membership, please click here.
