LawCare – the Big Give

In 25 years LawCare has helped over 10,000 people and, thanks to last year’s Big Give campaign we have been able to extend our online chat service, but there’s still much to do to protect legal minds and drive culture change around mental wellbeing within the profession

Our Life in the Law research has shown that people working in the legal sector are at a much higher risk of burnout due to low psychological safety in the workplace, low autonomy & high levels of work intensity mixed with common personality traits such as perfectionism & overthinking. 69% of people surveyed reported that they had experienced mental ill-health in the 12 months before, with young professionals, women, people from minority groups & with disabilities showing the highest risk.

We provide an emotional support service to everyone working in the legal sector through our helpline, email, online chat and peer support service. We need to raise more funds to provide counselling and related services to more people in the legal community that are more vulnerable and in particular acute need.

This year is our most ambitious target yet and we’re hoping to raise £10,000 in donations in one week. The first £5,000 in donations will be doubled by our pledge pot and your donation would mean the following:

£50 pays for a one hour counselling session as part of a course
£100 pays for a stand-alone Single Session Therapy
£500 pays for 6-10 therapy sessions for one individual

All donations received will further extend the Support Fund offering Counselling and related services via our Support Services Team.
