One of the Bristol and Avon Chinese Women’s Group projects, called The Chinese Lantern Project, is funded by the Big Lottery to operate a free helpline to members of the Chinese community across the south western region. As part of the project, they have a steering group that helps to monitor and ensure that it continues to meet their needs
The Group previously had a Chinese solicitor sitting on the steering group, who could offer a legal perspective on the project’s work. Unfortunately, he has moved away to London and resigned his position on the steering group. The group are therefore seeking another solicitor who would be able to offer their time on a voluntary basis to sit on the steering group.
It meets twice a year and they are able to reimburse expenses incurred as a result of attending the meetings, as well as informal briefings and correspondence in between to keep members updated.
