St John’s Chambers is pleased to welcome Jessica Wood as a member of our Family Practice Group.
Jessica is a specialist family practitioner and accepts instructions in all areas of family law.
Jessica studied Law at Bristol University before taking a year out to travel and intern abroad. She has worked with victims and survivors of domestic violence at inMotion (Bronx, New York) and refugees and asylum seekers at the Legal Resources Centre (Cape Town, South Africa).
Jessica completed her Bar Exams at Nottingham Law School where she was graded ‘Outstanding’ and awarded the Taylor Prize for being ranked first in her year. She went on to work at a busy magistrates’ court and later as Deputy Diary Secretary to the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice.
Christopher Sharp QC, Head of Chambers’ Family Practice Group said “Following a pupillage in London Jessica chose to return to Bristol where, following an outstanding ‘third six’ with St John’s Family Practice Group, we have been delighted to offer her a tenancy. We are confident she will prove a very valuable addition to an already strong team.”
