Roundtable: Reduction of level 7 Apprenticeship Funding- what next?
Following the recent announcement, many of you are probably aware that from January 2026, Apprenticeship funding will no longer be available for Level 7 apprentices aged over 21. At the College of Legal Practice we are aware that this change may significantly impact our member organisations and their ability to support aspiring lawyers, particularly through the Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship Scheme.
We have arranged this roundtable to provide members with an opportunity to discuss and share the challenges this presents. Peter Liver will provide key information and insights on conversations we have been having with partner firms, and emerging approaches to replacing the Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship schemes in the future.
Peter Liver, Chief Operations Director was previously Executive Director for Membership at the Law Society England & Wales where he led on education, learning and training. Peter joined The College of Legal Practice in 2019 and works closely with Giles and its not for profit parent company The College of Law.
