The Law Society Webinar: Differences in English and Welsh law

  • Event date: 3 November, 2026 @12:00am-1:00pm
  • Book now

We’re inviting solicitors and junior lawyers to our webinar on the growing differences between law in England and Wales.

The webinar follows our new practice note, which helps practitioners identify when English or Welsh law applies and understand key differences that may affect their work.

Join us on Microsoft Teams on Tuesday 3 November 2026, 12pm to 1pm.

Our speakers are:

  • Brett Dixon, president of the Law Society of England and Wales
  • Dr Bronwen Williams, head of Swansea Law School at UWTSD and author of the practice note
  • David McNeill, director of public affairs at the Law Society

Our speakers will explain why these differences matter, highlight key areas in the practice note and discuss practical considerations. You can also ask questions.

The webinar is relevant to practitioners in Wales and those in England working with Welsh law or cross-border matters.

Register for the webinar

We’ll send joining details to registered attendees before the event.

Please share this invitation with solicitors and junior lawyers in your area and networks.

Best wishes,
