Devon & Somerset Law Society join Bristol Law Society and Bristol + Bath LegalTech as promotional partners for the WE R LegalTech Festival and Conference 2025

Following the success of its inaugural festival last year, WE R LegalTech brought to you by Bristol+BathLegalTech (BBLT) is back in 2025! And in a change of venue, the Annual Conference this year will be taking place at the iconic The Grand Pier in Weston-Super-Mare. It’s a deliberately fun and eye-catching venue with fantastic conference facilities which we will be taking over for the day including the outside decks and the arcade, the dodgems and Jack’s bar in the evening

And this year’s title couldn’t be much more appropriate given the audience will be perched over the waves as we take a deep dive into - AI and the Coming Wave: how lawyers can surf not sink.

The Festival takes place over four days 'kicking-off' on Tuesday 6th May, with the conference (Wednesday 7th May) plus multiple additional events across the region closing on Friday 9th May.

And in an exciting development from last year, Bristol Law Society who are co-founders of BBLT, are joined by Devon & Somerset Law Society who will also be taking part and supporting the event in the respective Societies’ joint vision for this Conference to bring our collective members the same quality of conference speakers and content that you would expect to find in the established London based LegalTech conferences and to showcase the best of what Bristol, Bath and the wider West and South West of England legal sector are doing in this space.

Coralie McKeivor, President of Bristol Law Society said ‘This is the second year Bristol Law Society has been involved with the We R LegalTech Conference and it is exciting to see how it is evolving. Bringing in Devon & Somerset Law Society has opened up new possibilities and enables more law firms and solicitors to get involved - it is a great opportunity for the region to connect. With AI and LegalTech moving so fast it is important for legal professionals to have events like this to learn from each other and explore how these tools can support the work they do.’

Tony Steiner, Chief Executive of DASLS added: ‘AI and its impact on legal practice is the topic everyone is talking about and we are excited to be taking part in this important event”

The Conference and Festival are supported by Platinum Sponsors, Marlin Communications, who headlined the inaugural event in 2024 and new for this year, existing Bristol Law Society sponsor but no stranger to legal technology services, Quiss Technology.

The conference’s programme will appeal to anyone with a passion for and interest in how the legal world is changing as a result of a slew of technological advances including generative AI. We will try to step back and review the spectrum of implications the sector needs to face up to as a result, with strands designed for law firm leaders, partners and senior lawyers, in-house lawyers, technologists and legal innovators in firms, entrepreneurs and legaltech start-ups, established tech companies, academics and more.  Tickets can be purchased here
