First held in 1775, the Bristol Law Society Annual Dinner is one of the most prestigious events in the Bristol legal and social calendar.

This year the Annual Dinner, presided over by Nick Dell, Bristol Law Society President, promises to be one of the most starry of occasions. If you haven't yet booked your place or table at this event to be held on Thursday 18th October at the Bristol Marriott City Centre Hotel, there is still time so to do. Please email Office1@bristollawsociety.com to enquire about availability or fill in the booking form which can be found here.

This year, the main sponsor of the Annual Dinner is the University of the West of England, whose Bristol Institute of Legal Practice has long held a reputation for excellence in the provision of professional legal training.

The evning will start from 6.45pm with a reception. Irwin Mitchell and Albion Chambers are kindly jointly hosting the main reception. Irwin Mitchell is a Top 20 Law Firm, national but committed to bristol and the South West. Albion Chambers is one of the oldest established sets of Chambers in Bristol with an excellent reputation for integrity, approachability and the highest quality of advice and advocacy.

During dinner there will be fine wines specially chosen and sponsored by Averys of Bristol, Wine Merchants. Averys, respected wine merchants, work with small, boutique vineyards and the world’s best-known winemakers to bring you the finest choice of wines.

After the four course Black Tie dinner with wine, the prestigious awards ceremony honouring excellence in the local legal profession will be held, hosted by the BBC National Correspondent for the West of England, Jon Kay. Details of the awards can be found here.

This year’s chosen charity is The Quartet Community Foundation. There will be the opportunity to donate to the Charity during the evening and to find out more about the Charity. You can read a feature article on Quartet here.

The evening will be rounded off with dancing to the music of our live band, Men in Hats. This live entertainment is sponsored by 3 Paper Buildings Chambers, described as “A Rolls Royce service: right from head of chambers at the top, to junior clerks” (Legal 500 2011/2). We also thank Sounds Commercial for sponsoring the Lighting and Audio used during the evening. Sounds Commercial are one of the UK’s leading Event Production Companies offering an abundance of experience, stand alone creativity and technical excellence.

This evening promises to be an Annual Dinner to rival any held since 1775.
