Manic Freeth Preachers win Battle of the Bristol Legal Bands 2025
On a very hot Thursday night last week, 7 of the regions legal bands came together for the BLS annual battle of the bands, now in its third year!
Held at The Fleece, and hosted by Immediate Past President, Stuart Henry, the event saw nearly 300 people come out in support of the event and their firm bands (the mighty rufus; Legally Bond; Stranger Thrings, The Narrow Keys, Freeths, Out of Office, OC/DC)

Charlotte Rutherford , Fundraising Engagement Manager – Bristol & Somerset, Young Lives Vs Cancer
The event also raises funds for BLS Charity of the Year, Young Lives vs Cancer which also welcomed Charlotte Rutherford from the charity to say a few words of thanks to the audience. Indications are that the event raised around £2250 on the night so a massive thank you to all who came and bought tickets!
As The Fleece Sound Technician said afterwards, "the bands just get better each year" and we were certainly treated to an amazing show of talent from all the Bands involved.
But it was newcomers, Manic Freeth Preachers who stole the show with their crowd pleasing set and vocals! Their version of Thunderstruck rocking The Fleece!
