The Law Society response to the Interest on Lawyers’ Client Accounts Scheme consultation

The Law Society has taken a number of steps in relation to this consultation already, including:

Writing to the Lord Chancellor outlining our opposition to the proposals and requesting an extension to the unduly short deadline.
Issuing a press release and sharing information with our members, including our recent webinar.
Preparing a detailed response and engaging with members and stakeholders, including legal aid professionals and the banking sector.
Continuing media work and political lobbying.

Three things to say about my experience of working with Bristol Law Society. Their central team, council members and general hangers-on are just about the nicest, most generous group of people working in the legal sector today.
