Walker Family Law (formerly Ian Walker Family Law and Mediation Solicitors) is a Legal 500 and Chambers Directory ranked, progressive, niche, South-West family law practice. Our team now consists of more than 20 family lawyers. Recent awards for the team/team members, include: Resolution Regional Champion 2023, Law Society Recognising Excellence 2021. Our founder, Ian Walker, is a former member of the Law Society Family Law Committee and a member of Resolution’s DR Committee.

At the moment, we are primarily based in Devon and Somerset. We have achieved substantial organic growth and have exciting plans for the further development of our team. In particular, we see developing a significant Bristol presence as the next step in our journey.

We have fantastic opportunities for ambitious family lawyers with strong relevant experience, who will help us to develop our Bristol based team.

The Roles

  • Divorce Specialist Solicitor to join our growing team. You will ideally have already achieved accreditation with Resolution or the Law Society, and have trained in out of court resolution, (any of; Mediation, Collaborative Law, Resolution Together), but if not, you will aspire to become accredited and enhance your skills. The role is based in Bristol – Salary FTE £65,000 - £95,000 depending on experience.
  •  Child Law Specialist Solicitor to join our growing team. You will ideally already be a member of the Law Society Children Panel. The role is based in Bristol – Salary FTE £55,000 - £75,000 depending on experience.
  • Consultant Solicitor (Fee share) We have within our team a number of senior consultant solicitors - including some who have been equity partners and/or managers in other law firms. They joined us after reaching the point where a fee share consultancy would better enable them to return to enjoying undertaking casework and trade the responsibilities that come with management and ownership for freedom and flexibility. This model has enabled them to make best use of their considerable experience and networks. We would be happy to hear from senior lawyers established in Bristol who would be interested to understand how our fee share consultancy model might work for us both.
