Local Family Justice Board Annual Conference 2024

Invited guests to include children and young people with lived experience of private and public law; nurses; doctors; teachers; lawyers; social workers and team managers; Cafcass; magistrates and judges; academics; domestic abuse practitioners; psychologists; representatives of the Police and Legal Aid Agency; mediators and other dispute resolvers representing the 5 counties in the Bristol DFJ area.

The conference will take place at the UWE Frenchay Campus. The conference itself will start at 9.30am prompt but coffee/ tea will be served from 9.00am. The conference will end at 4.15pm.

Public sector colleagues are entitled to book a free place. Private sector delegates are asked to contribute £50 per head (as last year).

Refreshments and lunch will be served throughout the day. (Delegates can indicate dietary requirements when booking.)

Parking on campus is free (and close to the venue) but it is essential that car users provide their car registration number at the time of booking as all UWE car parks use number plate recognition technology.

A 'delegates' pack' will be sent to delegates in the week of 6th May with mini-bios and photos of all the speakers, and more detailed instructions about the building and parking etc.

Three things to say about my experience of working with Bristol Law Society. Their central team, council members and general hangers-on are just about the nicest, most generous group of people working in the legal sector today. The numerous events, awards, socials and conferences I’ve had the pleasure to attend over the years have been, without exception, top quality and supremely organised.
