Science plays a crucial role in adjudicating criminal proceedings. As a lawyer in this field, you are likely to encounter scientific evidence in your practice. Yet, many legal professionals have not studied science beyond the age of 16, raising questions about their ability to engage critically with scientific claims. This study aims to assess the science literacy of currently practising solicitors and barristers in England and Wales.

Who can participate? You are eligible if you meet the following criteria:

✅ You are 18 or older

✅ Either currently practising as a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales

✅ Your practice area includes criminal law
